The world of "imagination" has enchanted Ashley since childhood. Whether that magical place was
found within the pages of a treasured book or watching flickering images on a movie screen, she wanted to be part of it. As
a child she wrote and performed in 'living room' staged plays with her siblings. Years later, as a scholarship drama student
at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles, she was given an opportunity to direct and write.
Her first play was staged at Actors Studio-West, under the direction of Loraine Hull, Ph.D.
Today, as an award-winning author, Ashley writes historical romance and historical young adult fiction with
gothic suspense and/or paranormal elements. Woven like a delicate thread into the fabric of every Ashley Kath-Bilsky book
are unforgettable characters, compelling, suspenseful plots, as well as timeless romances of enduring love. Her debut historical
romance, The Sense of Honor, has received numerous honors, including The Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery
and Suspense, a Holt Medallion recipient, and being voted as one of the "1001 Best Books Ever Written" by readers
of Romantic Times Booksellers.
Ashley's extensive background in Public Relations has also been put to
good use as the Owner-Administrator of The-Butler-Did-It, an international website and group founded in 2005 to support
and promote the work of Scots actor Gerard Butler. A member of Romance Writers of America since 2000, she is also a
longtime member of several RWA chapters, including The Beau Monde (President-Elect), Hearts Through History Romance Writers,
Celtic Hearts Romance Writers, the Yellow Rose Romance Writers, Dallas Area Romance Authors (where she has worked as Communications
Coordinator), and most recently became a charter member of the new RWA Young Adult chapter. Interested in geneaological and historical research, as well as historical
and environmental preservation, she is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Ashley lives
in North Texas with her husband, three wonderful sons, a Scottish Terrier and "perpetual puppy" named
Patrick and a 128-pound Timber Shepherd (part Timber Wolf and Belgian Shepherd) named Kane.
